New York, NY –(BUSINESS WIRE)–New York’s Technology Parks program will expand to include the new Up app, which is the first of its kind in the country.
Up is a virtual reality app that allows users to interact with virtual environments and play games using their phone.
The Up app will be available in a variety of categories including retail, entertainment, health, fitness and technology.
Up was launched in April, 2017 and has raised $40 million in funding from venture capital firms such as Sequoia Capital, Pershing Square Ventures, Accel Partners, and other venture firms.
Up currently has more than 500,000 users on the App Store and over 100 million downloads.
Up is available on the Apple Watch and Gear VR, and it is the second app from Up to be included in the New York Technology Parks.
The first app was a VR app called Zombee that launched in September of 2016.
