New USC football coach’s name will be part of Fafsa form
A new USC football coaching search firm is planning to use the NCAA’s annual Football Coaches Salary Survey to find out the most successful coaches in the nation.
USC is in the process of hiring a new football coach after Tom Herman’s contract expired at the end of the 2017 season, but that hasn’t stopped the team from looking for the right coach.
According to the website Fafsafsa.com, USC is one of two teams that will be featured in the survey, with the other being Florida Atlantic University.
USC will host a live webcast on Saturday morning and will then begin filling out the questionnaire in the coming weeks.
The survey is based on a number of factors including the financial strength of a school and the likelihood of recruiting the best available candidates, Fafsansa.org reported.
The average compensation for full-time college football coaches in 2018 was $1.9 million, according to Forbes.
That number is expected to rise slightly this season with the arrival of the first of the 2018 classes.
The new survey will look at a broad range of topics, including salaries, benefits, travel and other costs, and recruiting.
USC, which won the Pac-12 North in 2018, also has a new coaching staff, with head coach Clay Helton taking over as offensive coordinator.
In 2018, USC was ranked No. 1 in the Pac 12 and No. 4 in the country.
