The new series takes place in 2034.

The original series follows the adventures of turtles as they traverse the country in search of a new home.

In an interview with MTV News, writer-producer Rob Tapert revealed that the Teenage Mutants’ new season would focus on the Turtles as they navigate their new home, their relationship with their friends, and the threat of the Shredder.

Tapert also said that the Turtles’ relationship with each other was different from the original series.
